Flying 604 ???sss

I was wondering if anyone new the best way to orient a pair of 604 8g's that I want to hang in a barn. They are in 612 cabs and I plan on chaining them to the rafters. Sadly I cant put them in the corners but have to place them more towards the center of the structure on the short side. The building is approx. 35'x22', and I am wondering if the port should be down, up, sideways and then turn the speaker, like some of the urei speakers. Thanks any help would be great!!!

Normally, rising on axis speakers work best overall when toe'd in with the HF either aimed directly at or at some point in front of, the 'sweet spot' and ideally located at some odd harmonic of both the horizontal and vertical room modes and if the 'sweet spot' is very wide and/or deep, then aiming the left speaker at the far right and vice versa is often a good enough solution or at least a good starting point for adjustment.

Cathedral/barn ceilings have complex vertical modes that simple math can't calculate, so either has to be measured or best overall performing speaker locations chosen empirically.

Horizontal modes of parallel walls can be found close enough by simply using a room mode calculator or just dividing the room dimensions by 3, 5, etc., with the first mode being against a wall.

This can be used to find a first approximation of the vertical modes to begin experimenting with if the speakers are going to be low enough to be inside the room's parallel walls.

Port location in such a system ideally needs to be close to and ~on the same plane as, the 'woofer' unless it's a passive radiator [PR] which has such a fast decay that it's usually a moot point.

Thanks once again GM!!! your advice saves me and my friend, many a trip up and down ladders..... Have never heard a 604 in a large space, should be interesting... corrugated steel walls and a concrete floor. I will update after listening impressions.
